SlideProof performance / PowerPoint slow

Because SlideProof is an Add-in to PowerPoint, it has at least some impact on the performance: It gets loaded when PowerPoint starts, observes when presentations are created/opened or when a slide or shape gets selected.

We give our best to keep the impact on performance to a minimum by using state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies and profiling tools. If you still think, SlideProof decreases PowerPoint's performance or slows down your work, please let us know and keep an eye on what gets slow in particular:
  • Start of PowerPoint
  • Creating/opening a new presentation
  • Selecting a slide
  • Selecting a shape
  • Editing text
To save performance you can do the following:
  • Ensure you are running the latest version of SlideProof
  • Disable other COM Add-ins
  • Hide Color- and Productivity-Pane from the SlideProof settings
  • Reduce the number of Productivity Groups in SlideProof Ribbon and instead put to Productivity Pane
  • Reduce the number of SlideProof controls in Quick Access Ribbon
